- Movie/TV Review: Watch a movie or television show and write a review that summarizes the plot (in one paragraph) and critically analyze the different aspects of it, such as genre, script, acting, and plot. Final thoughts, and would you recommend it? Rate it.
- Restaurant Review: Go to a restaurant and give a critical review of your experience, such as the décor, cleanliness, service, and food quality. Final thoughts, and would you recommend it? Rate it.
- Fashion Review: Choose an aspect of fashion (clothing, shoes, accessory, etc.) and write a review, including fabric, attractiveness, color, price, comfort, and design. Final thoughts, and would you recommend it?

- Book Review: Read a book and review it, including the story’s strength or weakness, characters, author, author’s style, the effectiveness of the story based on genre (funny, suspenseful, dramatic, tearjerker), and can also compare to author’s other works. - Feature Article: A longer, in-depth article on a person, or current issue/event (rising crime in America, how a musical artist grew into a superstar, etc).

- Labeled 3-ring binder (1” wide) with loose leaf paper
Grading Scale
- Tests (Articles and Projects): 40% (Use Times New Roman font, size 12)
- Homework: 20% (for full credit, must be completed and brought to class on time, with effort)
- Class Work: 20% (see below for requirements)
- Participation: 20% (verbally sharing, respectfully, when called upon)
Class Work
- Preparedness by having necessary materials and supplies needed for the class period.
- Sitting in seat, focusing on the day’s lesson presentation, and doing all of the assigned work when prompted, including active listening, with creativity and effort, until clean up.
- When being dismissed, work area must be clean, classroom supplies are undamaged and put away properly, and chair is pushed in.
- After the first unexcused tardy, 1% will be taken off for each subsequent unexcused tardy.
